The Austin School Board met in regular session on 5/11/26 in the AHS Annex Recital Hall, 205 4th St NW, Austin, MN. Chair Dube called meeting to order at 5:30 pm. Members present Carolyn Dube, Robert Hartman, Cece Kroc, Don Leathers, Carol McAlister, Peggy Young, and Daniel Zielke. No members absent.

Leathers/Hartman approval of tax abatement for New Horizon Homes, 7-0
McAlister/Hartman approval of tax abatement for Bigelow & Lennon Construction, 7-0
Kroc/Young approval of 4/13/26 and 4/27/26 minutes, 7-0
Kroc/Young approval of personnel report, 7-0
Kroc/Young approval of bills, 7-0
Kroc/Young approval of March treasurer’s report, 7-0
Kroc/Young approval of 2026-28 Principals contract, 7-0
Kroc/Young approval of use of Arux facility scheduling software, 7-0
Kroc/Young approval of use of Red Rover as our absence management and hiring software, 7-0
Board heard annual report on Austin Assurance Scholarship Program.
The Board received an update on the Packer Profile program.
Young/Hartman to approve resolution laying off three clerical staff members effective 6/30/26, 7-0
Hartman/Zielke to approve elimination of District Utility Maintenance position, reassignment of employee to custodian position and lay off of one custodian effective 6/30/26, 7-0
Leathers/Hartman to approve resolution placing Asst Principal Diaz on unrequested leave of absence effective 6/30/26, 7-0
Zielke left meeting at 6:45 pm.
Hartman/Young approval of donations, 6-0
McAlister/Kroc to appoint Dr. Katie Baskin as LEA for 2026-27, 6-0
Leathers/Young to appoint Dr. Joey Page as IOwA for 2026-27, 6-0
Young/McAlister to adjourn at 6:51 pm, 6-0
